1. Introduction and Acceptance
These Terms and Conditions (“Terms”) govern access to and participation in the Netflix × Indian Institute of Creative Technologies Scholarship Programme (“Netflix × IICT Scholarship Programme” or “Programme”) administered by the Indian Institute of Creative Technologies (“IICT”) and supported by Netflix under the Netflix Fund for Creative Equity. The Programme is designed to identify, nurture and support 100 talented students aspiring to build careers in the AVGC-XR (Animation, Visual Effects, Video Games, Comics and Extended Reality) industry through merit‑based scholarships across select diploma and certificate programmes.
By accessing the IICT website, applying, or participating in any stage of the Programme, the applicant (“you” or “Applicant/Student”) agrees to be bound by these Terms, as amended from time to time. If you do not agree to these Terms, you must not apply for or participate in the Programme.
2. Programme Overview
The Programme aims to increase accessibility to world-class AVGC-XR education, identify and nurture emerging creative talent, reduce financial barriers through merit-based scholarships, support students from diverse socio-economic and geographical backgrounds, and create sustainable career pathways into India’s creative and digital media industries.
Under the Programme, IICT will offer scholarships to a total of 100 scholarship recipients across select one-year diploma and six-month certificate programmes in AVGC-XR and related fields, as publicly shared.
Application for the admission shall begin on 24th August 2026 and closes on 30th September 2026. In case IICT receives the required number of applications, the admission procedure can be closed before the above end date without any further notice.
3. Eligible Programmes
The scholarships are available for the following IICT programmes (collectively, “Eligible Programmes”):
- Diploma in Interactive Comics and Sequential Arts
- Diploma in Visual Effects Mastery (Netflix)
- Certificate in Virtual Art Department Content Creation
- Certificate in Media Tech Workflow (Netflix)
- Certificate in Art of Character Animation
- Certificate in E-Sports & Gaming Management
Each Eligible Programme has specific descriptions, eligibility criteria (including, in general, a minimum Class 12 pass and relevant creative or technological aptitude or interest), and defined career pathways, as set out in the Programme framework.
4. Scholarship Structure
A total of 100 scholarships will be awarded, comprising 20 scholarships for one-year diploma programmes and 80 scholarships for six-month certificate programmes.
The 100 scholarships shall be awarded across the six (6) Eligible Programmes on a first-come-first-served basis. Award of scholarships, and the entries submitted by Applicants, shall in all cases be subject to (a) merit; (b) applications being received and processed on a first-come-first-served basis; and (c) the final decision of Team IICT, based on the assessment criteria set out in these Terms.
IICT reserves the right to accept or reject any application, and to allot scholarships across the Eligible Programmes, based on its internal criteria.
The Programme is expected to commence around November 2026, approximately 12–15 weeks after the scholarship announcement. The exact dates and timelines may be adjusted by IICT at its discretion, and any such updates may be communicated through the website or direct communication channels.
5. Eligibility
Without limiting programme-specific criteria, general eligibility for the Programme includes:
- Successful completion of Class 12 (or equivalent) from a recognised institution.
- Demonstrated creative aptitude and/or interest in the relevant field of study for the chosen Eligible Programme (e.g., creative arts, VFX, animation, digital content, media technology, gaming/esports or related areas).
- Submission of a complete online scholarship application form with accurate personal, academic and supporting information.
- Submission of a creative portfolio where applicable, or participation in an alternative creative assessment if invited by IICT.
IICT may prescribe additional eligibility criteria or documentation requirements for specific programmes and reserves the right to verify all information and documents submitted by applicants.
6. Application and Selection Process
Application Stage
Applicants must complete the online scholarship application form, select their preferred IICT programme, submit academic and personal information, upload required supporting documents, and submit a creative portfolio where applicable. All applications are integrated into IICT’s admissions management system and tagged under the “Netflix Scholarship Programme at IICT” for tracking, communication and reporting.
Eligibility Documents
Applicants shall provide, without limitation, the following documents:
- Income related documents
- Background information
- Education related information
- Academic certificates or mark sheets
Online Assessment
Eligible applicants will be required to undertake an online multiple-choice assessment designed to evaluate:
- Programme-specific aptitude aligned to the eligibility requirements of the selected programme;
- Logical reasoning;
- Creativity and problem-solving;
- Visual aptitude;
- General awareness of media and creative technologies;
- Interest in the AVGC-XR industry.
Shortlisting for the next stage will be based on assessment scores, at the discretion of IICT.
Personal Interview and Portfolio Review
Shortlisted candidates will be invited for a personal interview and portfolio review with the IICT Selection Panel. The interview and review may evaluate, among other things:
- Creative aptitude and technical capability;
- Originality and programme suitability;
- Potential for success in the chosen discipline;
- Motivation and career aspirations;
- Skills required for each programme; and
- Overall scholarship eligibility.
The decision of the IICT Selection Panel shall be final and binding on the candidates.
Merit Ranking and Offers
Based on performance across all evaluation stages, IICT will prepare a final merit list under which 120 candidates will be ranked, 100 will receive scholarship offers, and 20 will be placed on a waitlist in order of merit.
Applicants who have applied for scholarships under more than one Eligible Programme will be assessed against the Eligible Programme most relevant to them, based on their bio-data/profile, assessment results, interview performance and such other factors as IICT may consider relevant.
Selected candidates will be issued an official Scholarship Selection Letter under the Netflix Scholarship Programme at IICT, and will be provided with a 14-day acceptance and enrolment window. Waitlisted candidates may be offered scholarships if vacancies arise due to withdrawals or non-confirmation by selected candidates.
Applicants who have applied but are not offered a scholarship will be intimated of the same through their registered e-mail address. Such applicants may still enroll for their selected Eligible Programme(s) upon payment of the full applicable programme fee.
7. Waitlist
In addition to the 100 candidates who receive scholarship offers under the final merit list, IICT will maintain a waitlist of 20 candidates ranked strictly in order of merit, based on the selection process outlined in these Terms and the Programme framework.
A waitlisted candidate does not have any vested right to a scholarship. Scholarship offers may be extended to waitlisted candidates only if one or more initially selected candidates (i) decline the scholarship offer, (ii) fail to complete the admission or document‑verification formalities, or (iii) fail to pay the enrolment fee within the prescribed 14‑day period, resulting in a vacancy.
Any such vacancy will, subject to IICT’s discretion, be offered to the next eligible waitlisted candidate in descending order of merit, within applicable programme timelines. IICT reserves the right not to fill all waitlisted positions and may close the waitlist process at any time, including where programme seats or scholarship funds are fully utilised.
8. Scholarship Acceptance, Fees and Payment Plan
To accept a scholarship offer, selected candidates must, within the specified 14-day scholarship admission period:
- Confirm acceptance of the scholarship offer;
- Pay an enrolment fee of INR 10,000; and
- Complete admission and document verification formalities as communicated by IICT.
The enrolment fee is refundable, and otherwise governed, in accordance with the Terms and Conditions available on the IICT website.
Selected candidates must execute the Student Admission Agreement, including acceptance of the payment plan for the remaining programme fee after scholarship adjustment. The balance fee shall be payable in instalments over the duration of the selected programme (six-month certificate programmes or twelve-month diploma programmes, as applicable).
If a selected candidate (i) declines the scholarship, (ii) fails to complete the admission formalities, (iii) fails to submit required documents, or (iv) does not pay the 1st instalment of the programme fee within 14 calendar days, the scholarship offer shall automatically lapse and may be offered to the next eligible candidate from the waitlist in accordance with the final merit ranking.
In the event any candidate fails to make payment of any instalment of the programme fee on the given due date, IICT may, at its discretion, give a grace period for making payment or suggest obtaining an educational loan. If the candidate still fails to make payment, IICT may, at its discretion, terminate the admission of the candidate for the remaining part of the Programme for which the candidate has been enrolled.
Once an Applicant accepts a scholarship for a particular Eligible Programme, the Applicant shall not be permitted to change or cancel such scholarship; should the Applicant nonetheless do so, the scholarship shall stand cancelled with immediate effect and no refund shall be issued.
9. Accommodation Support
IICT may, at its discretion, assist with accommodation for scholarship recipients relocating to Mumbai. Accommodation assistance may be awarded based on factors that may include, without limitation:
- Student’s geographical location (geo-split);
- Financial background and demonstrated need;
- Availability within the accommodation support fund; and
- Allocation on a first-come, first-served basis following scholarship confirmation and submission of required documents.
Receipt of an academic scholarship does not automatically guarantee accommodation assistance. Accommodation support, if any, is subject to separate allocation decisions taken by the selection committee of IICT, which is final and binding on the candidates.
10. Guiding Principles
IICT will administer the Netflix × IICT Scholarship Programme in line with the following guiding principles:
- Transparent and merit-based selection;
- Adherence to Netflix Fund for Creative Equity criteria;
- Equal opportunity for all eligible applicants;
- Structured multi-stage evaluation;
- Efficient admissions management supported by CRM tools;
- Timely communication with applicants throughout the process;
- Fair allocation of scholarship and accommodation support.
11. Applicant and Student Obligations
By applying to or accepting a scholarship under the Programme, you agree to:
- Provide true, complete and accurate information and documents in all submissions.
- Promptly notify IICT of any changes to personal, academic or contact details.
- Comply with all academic, disciplinary and administrative regulations of IICT as set out in the Student Admission Agreement and relevant institutional policies.
- Participate in Programme-related assessments, interviews, portfolio reviews and reporting activities as reasonably required by IICT.
- Abide by any additional terms that may be notified in the Scholarship Selection Letter or Student Admission Agreement, including conditions linked to academic performance, attendance or conduct.
12. No Guarantee of Admission, Continuation or Employment
Participation in the selection process does not guarantee award of a scholarship or admission to an Eligible Programme. Issuance of a scholarship offer does not constitute confirmation of admission until all admission formalities, including fee payment and document verification, are completed as prescribed by IICT.
Scholarships are awarded for study in the Eligible Programmes only and do not constitute an offer or guarantee of any future employment, internship, or engagement with IICT, Netflix, or any third-party organisation.
13. Modifications, Suspension and Termination
IICT reserves the right, at its discretion, to modify, suspend, or terminate any aspect of the Netflix × IICT Scholarship Programme, including but not limited to eligibility criteria, timelines, selection processes, number of scholarships, scholarship components, and accommodation support, subject to applicable commitments already made to enrolled scholarship recipients.
IICT may also amend these Terms at any time. The updated Terms may be published on the IICT website, and continued use of the website or participation in the Programme following such publication shall constitute acceptance of the amended Terms.
14. Intellectual Property, Publicity and Communications
By participating in the Programme, you acknowledge that IICT and Netflix may make public references to the Netflix × IICT Scholarship Programme, including programme name, programme overview, and scholarship summary as set out in the Programme framework.
Specific terms concerning the use of logos, branding, student work, testimonials, images or recordings for marketing, publicity or reporting purposes may be set out in separate consent forms, the Student Admission Agreement, or other documents shared with you. Your participation in marketing or publicity activities will be subject to such additional terms and any applicable consents.
15. Data and Privacy
Information you provide during the application and admission process, including personal, academic and portfolio data, may be used by IICT for the administration of the Programme, admissions tracking, communication and reporting, including within IICT’s CRM-enabled admissions management systems.
Further details regarding data handling, storage, and use may be provided in IICT’s privacy notice or related documentation. By applying, you consent to such use of your information in connection with the Programme and IICT’s academic and administrative processes.

16. Disclaimers and Limitation of Liability
To the extent permitted by applicable law, IICT and its partners shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, consequential or special loss or damage arising from or in connection with:
- Any error, omission, interruption, delay or technical failure affecting application submission, assessment or communication;
- Any decision relating to shortlisting, selection, scholarship award, waitlisting or withdrawal of scholarship in accordance with these Terms and the Programme framework;
- Any modification, suspension or early closure of the Programme; or
- Any reliance placed on information published on the IICT website regarding the Programme, where such information is subject to change.
17. Governing Law and Jurisdiction
These Terms and any disputes arising out of or in connection with the Programme shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of India. The courts at Mumbai shall have exclusive jurisdiction, subject to any mandatory provisions of applicable law.
